A Living Tradition of Physiology – From Legacy to the XXX Congress in Katowice
For decades, the Congresses of the Polish Physiological Society have served as a vital forum for scientific exchange, intellectual debate, and the strengthening of a shared physiological identity.
Each meeting has built upon the achievements of its predecessors, carrying forward ideas, collaborations, and questions that continue to shape modern physiology.

Previous congresses, documented in the Society’s rich history, reflect the evolution of physiological research: from classical experimental foundations to contemporary, interdisciplinary approaches integrating medicine, biology, engineering, and digital technologies. These meetings have not only presented scientific results, but have also fostered generations of researchers, mentors, and young investigators who define the discipline today.

The upcoming XXX Congress of the Polish Physiological Society, to be held on 24–26 September 2026 in Katowice, represents a symbolic milestone in this ongoing journey.
Hosted by the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice, the Congress will unite national and international experts around key themes spanning exercise and aging, neurophysiology, cardiopulmonary integration, metabolic regulation, circadian rhythms, and the physiological consequences of the digital era. In keeping with the spirit of previous congresses, special emphasis will be placed on interdisciplinary dialogue and the active participation of early-career scientists.

By connecting the legacy of past meetings with forward-looking scientific perspectives, the XXX Congress reaffirms a shared mission: to understand human physiology in its full complexity and to translate this knowledge into better health, innovation, and societal well-being.
